Cyclic or standby duty

Capacity and discharge basis

Confirm Ah test rate, cutoff voltage and temperature, expected load/current and usable DOD; request discharge curves rather than converting nominal Ah directly into runtime.

Charging profile

Confirm bulk/absorption/float and equalization rules, maximum charge current, temperature compensation, charger/inverter settings and series-bank balance requirements for the exact AGM or Gel model.

Bank configuration

Life and runtime boundaries

Actual performance depends on rate, cutoff, temperature, depth of discharge, charging, storage and bank maintenance.

Ah needs a test rate

A 100, 150, 200 or 250 Ah label is incomplete without hour rate, cutoff and temperature. Higher discharge current generally reduces accessible capacity and runtime.

Design life is not guaranteed service life

Source wording such as 15-year design life must remain tied to the exact model and stated standby/test conditions; cycling, heat, undercharge and deep discharge can materially shorten service.

AGM and Gel are not automatic substitutes

Charge voltage, temperature behavior, cycle/float duty, internal resistance, dimensions and terminal layout can differ. Revalidate charger settings and mechanical fit before substitution.

Maintenance-free does not mean condition-free

Sealed VRLA batteries still require correct ventilation, temperature, charging, terminal inspection, bank balance and safe end-of-life handling under applicable rules.

How should lead-acid battery runtime be calculated?

Does 15-year design-life wording mean a 15-year warranty?
