Solis US commercial string-inverter review

Solis S6-GC(25-60)K-US Three-Phase String Inverter Family

The official Solis US flyer covers six 480 V three-phase members: 25, 33, 36, 40, 50 and 60 kW. It lists 1000 V maximum PV input, 180-1000 V MPPT operation, 20 A maximum string current, three MPPT/six strings for 25-40 kW and four MPPT/eight strings for 50-60 kW. The family also lists Type 4X enclosure, integrated AFCI and DC/AC switches, plus an integrated module-level rapid-shutdown transmitter whose APST, RSS or NEPT ordering route must match the chosen receiver/system and project documents.

Current source identity: official Solis US S6-GC(25-60)K-US flyer V2.1 and supporting manual/certificate/rapid-shutdown documents. The family is a US-market 480 V route and should not be generalized as a global grid-approved product.

Current document status

The official page provides flyer, manual, certificate and UL 3741/rapid-shutdown guides. Before quotation, map the exact 25/33/36/40/50/60K member and APST/RSS/NEPT ordering option to the approved MLRS receiver/racking route, then obtain current utility settings, certificate/model scope, protection, communications, wire-cover/accessory, warranty and commissioning files.

Current US-family evidence

Select one of six 480 V members and one rapid-shutdown ordering route

The official flyer distinguishes member ratings, tracker count, current and physical data.

Six exact members

The flyer lists S6-GC25K-US, 33K, 36K, 40K, 50K and 60K. Rated power and maximum AC current increase from 25 kW/30.1 A to 60 kW/72.2 A.

PV and MPPT matrix

All members show 1000 V maximum and 180-1000 V MPPT. The 25-40 kW group has three 40 A MPPT inputs/six strings; 50-60 kW has four 40 A inputs/eight strings.

US AC and enclosure

The source table states 3-phase PE 480 V, 60 Hz, Type 4X, C5 anti-corrosion marketing, integrated AFCI and DC/AC switches and transformerless topology.

Rapid-shutdown transmitter variants

The ordering section names APST, RSS and NEPT transmitter routes. The selected transmitter must be paired with the applicable receiver, racking/system guide and exact order code.

Commercial PV inverter RFQ inputs

Six checks before fixing the S6-GC 25-60K-US member

Array current, 480 V interconnection, MLRS system and controls need one coordinated design.

Exact member and utility

Select 25/33/36/40/50/60K-US and state 480 V service, utility, jurisdiction, export/curtailment rules, required grid profile and certificate revision.

PV string schedule

Provide module Voc/Vmp/Isc/Imp, temperature coefficients, strings per MPPT, orientation and DC/AC ratio; verify cold Voc, 20 A string and 40 A tracker operating-current limits.

Rapid-shutdown system

Select APST, RSS or NEPT ordering route and identify exact MLRS receivers, racking/array boundary, initiation, wiring and UL 3741/PVRSS installation guide.

AC collection and protection

Provide conductor runs, voltage-drop target, breaker/switchgear, grounding, surge/AFCI coordination, transformer if present, fault levels and point-of-interconnection requirements.

Monitoring and power control

Confirm RS485/Modbus, optional cellular/Wi-Fi, logger, meter/PPC/export control, remote control, commissioning account and cybersecurity/network responsibilities.

Files, accessories and order control

Request current flyer/manual, certificate model list, RSD compatibility/guides, wire/shade covers, ordering code, warranty, packing, serial traceability and substitution rules.

PV, listing and accessory boundaries

Family efficiency and integrated RSD wording are not universal system approval

Exact member, array, transmitter/receiver system and destination documents remain controlling.

Tracker count changes by member

Do not design 25-40 kW members with four MPPT/eight strings. The official table assigns that topology only to 50 and 60 kW members.

20 A still requires module checks

High-current module compatibility also depends on Isc, cold Voc, parallel strings, connector/cable ratings and the selected member's MPPT allocation.

Integrated transmitter is not the whole RSD system

APST/RSS/NEPT routes require matching receivers, racking/system conditions, initiation and installation instructions; UL 3741 status cannot be inferred from the inverter alone.

US files do not prove global approval

The 480 V US page, Type 4X/C5 labels and listed compliance set must be checked against exact model, file revision, site environment, utility and local authority.

Solis S6-GC 25-60K-US FAQ

Questions to close before releasing the commercial PV order

The member, PV strings, RSD system and utility documents must agree.

Do all S6-GC 25-60K-US models have four MPPTs?

No. The official flyer gives three MPPTs and six strings to 25, 33, 36 and 40 kW members, and four MPPTs/eight strings to 50 and 60 kW members.

Can any 20 A PV module be connected?

No. Verify module Isc/Imp, cold Voc, strings per tracker, connectors/cables and MPPT allocation against the exact member and site temperature.

Does the integrated transmitter complete rapid shutdown compliance?

No. Choose the APST, RSS or NEPT route and require matching receiver, racking/system guide, initiation, wiring and applicable listing evidence.

What should the S6-GC quotation identify?

Require full member and transmitter order code, PV schedule, AC/grid design, RSD/UL 3741 package, monitoring and power control, certificates, accessories, warranty, packing and firmware.
